After listing a number of examples how lifetime might be wasted, he concludes to that with the remarkable statement: „The part of life we really live is small. For all the rest of existence is not life, but merely time.“ This means that even when someone leaves us too soon, what truly matters are the hours that had been filled with meaning and quality.
